This course allows you to apply to the NSW Office of Fair Trading to be an Assistant Agent in Real Estate – Sales and Leasing. This is the requirement to work in the industry in NSW and be employed and supervised under a Licensee in Charge (Class 1 Agent) and perform real estate sales, leasing and stock and station (livestock only) functions including
- acting as an agent to negotiate with a person to enter into, or to accept an offer relating to a real estate transaction or a contract for a real estate transaction
- introduce a prospective purchaser, lessee or licensee of land to another licensed agent or owner
- acting as an agent to collect rents payable or provide property management services
As an Assistant Agent, you are able to secure new clients however, only a Class 2 or Class 1 Agent can sign and bind the agency to an agreement.
As part of this course, you will have access to 5 units of competency, taken from CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice.
A certificate as an Assistant Agent is a one-off certificate issued for a period of 4 years. At this point, all Assistant Agents are required to upgrade to a Class 2 Licence within this 4-year period by completing a Certificate IV in Real Estate Practices.

You have 6 months to complete this course. Prior to accessing the course content and assessment you will be required to complete a pre-enrolment assessment within your student portal which is compulsory for all students.

To complete an NREL course, you will need:
- a Laptop or Computer (Mac or Windows computers are both compatible (Windows 8 or above))

- internet access so you can complete the assessments via the online learning platform
- Video recording device

Your Certificate of Registration (Assistant Agent) is only issued for 4 years! During this time, you will need to apply for an individual property licence (Class 2) to be able to continue working in the real estate industry.
Have you already completed your 5 Assistant Agent (CPP41419) units? Are you wanting to be able to apply for a Class 2 Licence?
This course allows you to take your Assistant Agent units (from the CPP41419 package) and complete the remaining units in the Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice to be able to apply for a Class 2 Licence with NSW Office of Fair Trading.
The Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice is the qualification required to be able to apply to the NSW Office of Fair Trading for a Class 2 Licence. Class 2 Licence holders will be known as ‘Licensed Agents’ and are able to sell and manage properties.
As part of this course, you will have access to 13 units of competency from the CPP41419 training package. Please note, NSW Office of Fair Trading require 12 months industry experience as an Assistant Agent before you can successfully apply to be classified as a Class 2 Licenced Agent.
