The NSW Assistant Agent Course allows you to apply to the NSW Office of Fair Trading to become an Assistant Agent in Real Estate – Sales and Leasing. This is the required training to work in the NSW real estate industry under the supervision of a Licensee in Charge (Class 1 Agent).
As an Assistant Agent, you can perform functions including:
- Negotiating with a person to enter into or accept an offer relating to a real estate transaction
- Introducing prospective purchasers, lessees or licensees to another licensed agent or owner
- Collecting rents or providing property management services
Additionally, Assistant Agents can secure new clients. However, only a Class 2 or Class 1 Agent can sign and bind the agency to an agreement.
As part of this course, you will have access to 5 units of competency taken from the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice.

Before You Enrol
Before accessing the course content and assessment, you will be required to complete a compulsory pre-enrolment assessment within your student portal.

Note USI Requirement

Course Structure
You have 6 months to complete this course. As the course is online and self-paced, you can work through the content and assessments within your own time.
The course provides access to 5 units of competency from the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice.
Upon Completion
Once you have successfully completed the course requirements, you can use your training to apply to the NSW Office of Fair Trading for an Assistant Agent Certificate.
An Assistant Agent Certificate is issued for a period of 4 years. During this period, Assistant Agents are required to upgrade to a Class 2 Licence by completing the Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice.
